Reflection Blocks

Within the IBS system, this part of the bracing system gives careful attention to the process of efficient reflection of the acoustic wave pressure, occurring within the solid timber braces of 1 & 2.   Looking at Fig 2, you may notice the extensive block work bracing arrangement, behind the transverse brace number 25 surrounding the area where the neck joins with the body of the guitar. The block work with due consideration is constructed in such a way as to be resistive in form rather than dense or heavy in weight.  Its resistive capacity is able to reflect vibration rather than absorb the ongoing acoustic wave pressure, within the indirect braces of 1 & 2 that are firmly connected to this area.

Braces 1 & 2 are thus able to support the string load tension firmly, avoiding potential losses of the string(s) vibration that is redirected throughout the soundboard structure.  Distortion and or absorption of the acoustic wave pressure within the wooden bracing structure are kept to a minimum.  This bracing system endeavours to reproduce a true amplified reproduction of the string wave motion!
